New technologies in the workplace demand new skills on the part of our students. What are these
skills? How do we teach them? This session examines skills in productivity, communication, research,
media and publishing that are essential to full participation in the new world of knowledge and in the
new economy.

Schools for the 21st Century: What they look like (14.00 – 14.45)  
Kathi Lengel, Killingly Schools, Connecticut, USA
What kind of school do we need to teach the new skills? This session will include a virtual tour of K-12
schools where 21st century pedagogy and tools are being used to transform curriculum content,
teaching methods, communication, media and productivity.

Teaching in the 21st Century School: How it's different, how to prepare yourself (15.00 – 15.45)

How do we teach these new sckills in these new schools? This session will look at the role of the
teacher in the 21st Century School and how to prepare for it.  The session will demonstrate examples
of how to get the best from technology and enhance the learning experience of students.
